Context · Why now
Products move. Trust must follow.
Resale, repair, control, transfers and evolving data requirements make product continuity more strategic than a static certificate.
Products circulate more than ever
A product may be sold, resold, repaired, inspected, certified or transferred several times during its lifetime. Each step creates information, but that information can also be lost or fragmented.
Trust is becoming more complex
When several actors participate in a product’s lifecycle, the presence of an identifier alone is no longer enough. Evidence, statuses and history must remain understandable over time.
More actors
Brand, marketplace, repairer, owner and control authority each intervene at different moments, with different needs and access levels.
Fragmented evidence
Certificates, invoices, reports and images remain spread across systems and organizations. Finding reliable evidence becomes difficult.
Information loss over time
Useful information can disappear through successive transfers. Incomplete history weakens trust and complicates resale, control and warranty decisions.
Requirements are evolving
The emergence of the Digital Product Passport, the growth of second-hand markets, transparency expectations and authenticity challenges all reinforce the need for better-structured product information.
European DPP
The EU Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (EU) 2024/1781 establishes the Digital Product Passport framework. Roll-out is progressive through product-specific rules: textiles are a priority in the 2025–2030 working plan, with the textile delegated act currently planned for 2027. The EU DPP Registry has been operational since July 2026.
Transparency expectations
Consumers, distributors and authorities increasingly need clearer information about product origin, state and lifecycle.
Authenticity challenges
Counterfeiting, illicit resale and falsified history require structured evidence rather than simple declarations.
The Kerion X Core approach
Kerion X Core focuses on product digital continuity: identity, identifiers, evidence, events, statuses and history can be structured in a multi-actor framework.
Digital continuity
Product information remains connected to the product across successive transfers, channels and actors.
Identity & identifiers
Each product has a structured identity linked to physical or digital identifiers suited to the context.
Evidence & events
Evidence, statuses, alerts and key events are documented within a structured, usable history.
Multi-actor approach
Each actor intervenes according to their role and level of access within a structured framework.
